Sébastien Maillard, 39, is a journalist from the French nationwide catholic daily, La Croix (circulation of 100,000), where he co-drives the World and Economics service. Holding a Master’s degree from Sciences Po (Paris) and from the University of Aix-Marseille, Sébastien spent one and a half year in South Africa (1995-1996), where he was seconded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to start academic linkages between both countries.
Back in France, he joined the French Foundation for Management Education (FNEGE) in 1997, conducting training programmes in business administration in emerging markets. He collaborated at the same time to various publications and media, including France Info public radio, before joining La Croix in 2000.
A reporter in European economics, he covered all EU affairs and was appointed Brussels correspondent from 2007 to 2010. Sébastien is married and a father of three sons.
