Two days to accelerate the transition of the Swiss economy towards sustainability!
The Zermatt Summit Foundation reinforces its partnership with the G21 Swisstainability Forum and is proud to act as a privileged partner of the sixth edition, which will take place on June 28th and 29th 2016 at the SwissTech Convention Center, Lausanne.
This annual event is meant to be the platform for the economic transition in Switzerland. Its aim is to encourage meetings and collaboration between scientific, economic, and political actors and NGOs, to support the companies in their innovating and sustainable projects, and to showcase the best initiatives and innovations which will be the leading projects of tomorrow, always in a forward-looking spirit.
For its sixth edition, the G21 Swisstainability Forum will focus on the topic “in search of meaning”.
A hundred of speakers are expected to inspire economic players in the ecological transition, among them, The Zermatt Summit Foundation,
Christopher Wasserman.
Environmental, economic, political and social challenges awaiting Switzerland in the near future are immense. What is the role of the economy in this context? What are the new business models developed to make the Swiss companies more sustainable and ethical? Which Switzerland do we want for 2040 in all possible fields of human activity? These are the questions that G21 Swisstainability Forum stakeholders attempt to answer on June 28 and 29 in Lausanne. Double wink to the G20 Summit and to the current century, the G21 is organized by the NiceFuture association, in collaboration, this year, with the Swiss Zermatt Summit and BCorp, and with the support of the Canton of Vaud and the Environment Federal Office (OFEV).
During these two days, about 700 entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, international and Swiss experts will meet around lectures, debates and workshops. An event primarily intended for business leaders as well as senior executives who wish to discover the most innovative strategies in terms of sustainability, understand coming challenges, and meet thinkers and builders of the Swiss economy of Tomorrow.
Switzerland in the sustainable economy (Day 1)
The first day of the Leadership Forum will be dedicated to new business models. Various workshops (called labs) will be propose to participants in the form of dynamic and interactive exchanges with renowned experts: financing and investment tools, tax environmental, energy contracting, benevolent governance, regenerative economy, share economy, role the press in the ecological transition, among others. Andrew Stern (musician, author and director of the Arno Stern Institute), will inspire the room through a conference “change our view of the world”.
Switzerland in 2040 (Day 2)
The second day of the Leadership Forum will focus on the vision of what could be Switzerland in 2040. There too, workshops will be hold on various themes : love & leadership, urban agriculture, cities in 2040, smart village, policy for an energy transition, wisdom of mankind, gift economy, ecopsychology, beauty and feminine dimension in the transition , or the living model. Patrice Brasseur (connoisseur of Western esoteric traditions) and Luc Schuiten (visionary Belgian architect and president of the association Vegetal City), will evoke awareness and inspiration favourable to ecological transition.
In addition to the Leadership Forum (Think global!), the Business Forum will be hold during the lunch breaks (local Act!). The latter is intended for executives and leaders of SME projects, large companies and other organizations wishing to embark on the path of sustainability. Themes such as the luxury economy, digital synergy, soft mobility or the social economy will find their place. The entrance is free for subscribers.
Guestspeakers
The G21 will receive honour guests during the two days. Tulku Rinpoche Lopsang, venerable and eminent Buddhist teacher, will witness the culture and the Tibetan tradition. Almir Surui Narayamoga, Amazonian indigenous tribe leader defends this unique forest and will inform on the evolution since his remarkable and noticed intervention last year, of his struggle to preserve it.
NiceFuture Magazine
On this occasion, participants will receive in exclusively the 2nd edition of the NiceFuture Magazine, gathering a hundred of experts’ interviews to imagine Switzerland in 2040. NiceFuture tackled new and exciting themes such as Low Tech agriculture and food, urban planning and architecture or education. The public will discover in this way the view of entrepreneurs, politicians, government officials, journalists, philosophers, writers, creators and visionary adventurers on what is already happening in Switzerland and what we must commit to build a desirable future. Many possible visions to give Switzerland a leading position in the world as an ecological transition model.
NiceForest and NiceTransition
As part of the continuing NiceForest project, participants will have the opportunity to sponsor the planting of a tree in Amazonia when buying their ticket. In addition, the NiceTransition platform, recently released will be presented to the participants. An online database bringing together technological and social initiatives, coming from all around the world and promoting the ecological transition towards a strong sustainability, inspiring source for new models applicable to a green economy in Switzerland.
