Humanizing Innovation: An Economic Revolution Inspired by Nature

7th edition - 2018

Overview

The 2018 Zermatt Summit continued the exploration of innovation begun in 2017 by focusing on the remarkable potential of regenerative and circular approaches to growth.

Our contemporary lifestyle, habits of consumption and mode of production are undermining the ability of future generations to lead meaningful lives – or even meet their basic needs. However, changing course will require a mental leap, as well as a profound modification of our behavior, in order to embrace a radically different approach. That such a change is morally necessary is a central tenet of the Zermatt Summit.

Accordingly, the Zermatt Summit set out to investigate the emerging trends that are fast transforming the way we produce and consume food, water and energy, regenerate nature, and rebuild communities. Speakers included many inspiring thinkers, CEOs and entrepreneurs whose people-centered innovations are enabling an economic revolution inspired by nature, and building a more sustainable future for our planet.
