The Zermatt Summit presents concrete tools and initiative

The Zermatt Summit favors a concrete approach of ethics in business and presents concrete tools ready for use. To this effect, with “Servant leaders” as a guiding theme for this edition, the 2 nd Zermatt Summit will be an opportunity for CEO’s, economists, politicians and NGO representatives to deliver effective good practices, replicable within other companies. This is to encourage other forms of economy, more respectful of the human being and demonstrate their economic viability. Ten projects will be presented amongst the 30 keynote speeches and roundtables.

First, experiences taken from daily practice. For example at the SIG – Services Industriels de Genève, where ethical, social and environmental criteria have been integrated to their performance rating for all employees. The International network CJD – Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants d’entreprise, counting 5000 members, whose goal is to put the human being back at the center of the economy wishes to open a Swiss branch.

A research project is also undergoing, the « Global Responsibility and Leadership Initiative »(GRLI) that is looking to promote « a new vision for the corporation of the XXI st century » by developing new concepts and new management tools for the corporate enterprise of tomorrow.

The collaboration between private and public sector will also be covered by the « World Future Council », promoting the creation of « Ombudspersons for Future Generations », ensuring the long term scenarios are brought to the heart of governments.

Moreover, different projects will also be displayed, such as the Seven Fund, leader in the field of enterprise solutions to poverty or the UCIRI (Union de Comunidades Indigenas de la Region del Istmo), a Union of small Indian farmers under the Max Havelaar label or Résonnance, a project dedicated to “Offering classical music in places where it isn’t”, creating and managing Résonnance schools and promoting the teaching of the “Résonnance Pedagogy”.

Last but not least, different evaluation systems will be offered such as the GPS or « Global Performance System for Responsible Companies » or the « ethicabiliy » test developed by Roger Steare in collaboration with PriceWatherhouseCoopers a very sharp online tool to rate “decisionmaking and cultural framework that helps people stop, think, talk, unite – and then do the right thing”.

All these different projects and initiatives will be presented in Zermatt in order to trigger thoughts and offer concrete solutions to companies who wish to give a humanistic approach to their activity.
